Our homes are made to last. They last because we know about wood.
It all begins with the tree. Each is carefully selected, and only cut in the winter because we know that sap travels down to the roots in winter. That means our logs are virtually
free of sap and will last even longer.
Our logs are already one hundred years old, or more. They are dried for another year to ensure that the moisture content is just right. Our quality control experts carefully measure the moisture content of every log - no log can be used until it is perfect.
Confederation Log Homes use White Pine with a moisture content between 15% and 18%. Western Red Cedar is also available. The squared log timbers are dry seasoned measuring 6" x 12".
